Why do I need an EPO?

An EPO (Exit Permit Only) is required to officially close your KITAS.
It ensures that your stay permit is properly terminated and that all original documents held by your previous company are returned and registered with the authorities.

Without an EPO:

• your KITAS remains active in the system,

• your previous company may still be responsible for you,

• you may face issues when applying for a new KITAS or re-entering Indonesia.

An EPO creates a legally clean separation between you and your former employer and prevents future administrative complications.
