What happens when I divorce as a Spouse KITAS holder?

What happens after a divorce depends on the length of your marriage:

Marriage of more than 10 years

If your marriage lasted over 10 years, you will already have, or be eligible for, a Spouse KITAP (permanent residency). In this case, a divorce does not affect your residency status, and your KITAP remains valid.

Marriage of less than 10 years

If your marriage lasted less than 10 years, the Spouse KITAS becomes invalid after the divorce.
You must:

  • provide a new sponsor (e.g., employer, new spouse, or your own PMA), and

  • report the change to Immigration within 60 days

Failing to provide a new sponsor in time may result in losing your residency status and being required to leave Indonesia.
