What happens if the investment project fails or is terminated before the Investor KITAS expires?

If your investment project fails or is terminated before the Investor KITAS expires, it can directly affect the validity of your KITAS, because the permit is tied to an active investment and a functioning PMA structure.

In this situation, you must:

  1. Report the changes to the relevant authorities (Immigration and BKPM/OSS).

  2. Follow the proper procedure for adjusting or cancelling your permit.

  3. If the PMA stops operating, you will need to close the KITAS through an EPO (Exit Permit Only).

  4. If you wish to stay in Indonesia, you must apply to another eligible visa (e.g., Tourist Visa, Work KITAS, Spouse KITAS, Remote Work KITAS).

Failing to report the termination of your investment project may result in immigration issues, fines, or complications for future visa applications.

We can assist you with choosing the correct next steps and handling the closure or conversion process.
