Activities
A temporary residence visa, which does not entitle the holder to engage in gainful employment, is issued to foreign nationals who are pursuing education at an educational institution or institute in Indonesia.

Duration of stay
The duration of stay in Indonesia is granted for 6 (six) months/180 days, 1 (one) year and 2 (two) years.
The residence permit derived from this visa can be extended.

Procedure and requirements
A temporary residence visa can be applied for through the online application for visa approval by attaching the following documents:

Letter of guarantee from the guarantor, who is an Indonesian citizen, or from an institution/company where the foreigner is pursuing his/her education.

At least 12 (twelve) months for those who will work in the Indonesian territory for a period not exceeding 180 (one hundred and eighty) days; or
At least 18 (eighteen) months for those who will perform work or stay in the Indonesian territory for a period not exceeding 1 (one) year; or
At least 30 (thirty) months for those who will work or reside in the Indonesian territory for a maximum of 2 (two) years.

Proof of living expenses for himself and/or his family during the stay in the Indonesian territory of at least 2,000 U.S. dollars (two thousand American dollars) or its equivalent;
Two recent color passports measuring 4 cm by 6 cm (four centimeters by six centimeters) with a white background;
A letter of recommendation from a government agency regulating matters in the field of education or religion.

If the guarantor is an institution or corporation where foreign nationals are pursuing education, the letter of recommendation for study may be replaced by a certificate or statement of acceptance into the institution or corporation.

Additional requirements
Proof of having received the full dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

Sponsors or foreign nationals may apply for a visa on the official website of the Directorate General of Immigration at www.imigrasi.go.id or directly through the online visa application.

Processing time
The processing time for a visitor visa is 4 (four) business days after the applicant pays the immigration fee. Sponsors or applicants can check their visas in the online visa approval account and by email.

Limited stay visa $150 per application.
Limited stay visa approval IDR 200,000 per application.
