Indonesia Visa “Waiting Verification”: Meaning, Reasons & What to Do
If your Indonesia visa status says “Waiting Verification,” it means Indonesian Immigration is still reviewing your application and has not yet issued a final decision. The status does not automatically mean your visa will be rejected.
For visa categories such as the C1 and D1, the published processing time is generally five working days after payment is received. However, an application may take longer because of missing or inconsistent information, document issues, an unconfirmed payment, an incomplete application step, or additional review.
If your application has been stuck on “Waiting Verification,” this guide explains the common reasons, how to check your application and payment, when to contact Immigration, and what to do if your travel date is approaching.
Quick Answer – What To Do If Your Indonesia Visa Waiting Verification Is Stuck
Need answers now? Here’s your at-a-glance checklist:
- Wait at least 5-7 working days before getting concerned. That’s the standard processing timeframe for most visa types.
- Check your email and evisa.imigrasi.go.id account for messages. Indonesian immigration authorities might be asking for something.
- Don’t book flights yet if you’re still waiting. If your visa is approved and flights are already booked, you’re good.
- Contact immigration directly if it’s been more than five working days with no change
What the “Waiting Verification” Status Means
“Waiting Verification” means Indonesian Immigration is still reviewing your visa application and has not yet issued a final decision.
During verification, the system checks whether your payment went through and whether your documents meet basic requirements. Once that clears, an immigration officer reviews your actual application details, your passport information, travel dates, purpose of visit, and supporting documents.
The officer makes a decision based on what they see. Your visa gets approved and issued, or in rare cases, rejected with an explanation.
In most cases, e-VOA applications are processed within one business day or even immediately. C1/C2 visas and other types can take 5-7 days or more. Processing delays happen during peak travel seasons, holidays, or when technical errors hit the system.
Reasons Why Your Indonesia Visa May Be Stuck on “Waiting Verification”
“Waiting Verification” does not reveal the exact reason your application is taking longer. Indonesian Immigration does not publicly diagnose individual delays from this status alone. However, the official visa process includes checking your documents, payment and applicant information before approval. The following are the main things worth checking when your status has not changed.
Your Application Is Still Within the Normal Processing Time
Your visa may not actually be delayed. For visa categories such as the C1 Tourist Visa, Immigration publishes a processing time of five to seven working days after payment is received.
Applications may also take longer during periods of high application volume, especially around major holidays and peak travel seasons. Indonesian Immigration has reported significant increases in immigration applications around year-end holidays and has warned that holiday closures can create an accumulation of applications afterward.
For example, if your payment was recorded on a Friday, the following Monday would normally be the next working day. If a public holiday or unusually busy period falls within that week, your application may remain on “Waiting Verification” longer than the usual timeframe.
Example: If your payment was received on Friday, Monday would normally be the next working day. Check your payment date before assuming the application is stuck.
Your Application Details May Not Match Your Passport
Check that the information entered in your application exactly matches your passport, especially your full name, passport number, nationality, date of birth and passport expiry date.
Even a small typing mistake is worth checking. Immigration has specifically warned that errors in important passport information such as a person’s name, nationality or passport number can create problems with an electronic visa application.
Open the complete application and compare every important field directly with your passport biodata page.
Your Passport Scan or Photo May Be Difficult to Verify
Immigration needs clear electronic documents to process an online visa application. The official visa FAQ currently requires the passport biodata page and passport photograph to be uploaded in JPG, JPEG or PNG format, with a maximum file size of 200 KB for those documents.
Check for blurry text, glare, cropped passport edges, missing machine-readable lines or a photograph where your face is unclear. Open the actual uploaded file instead of judging it from the small dashboard thumbnail.
Immigration May Need Additional Verification
Some applications may require additional review because of the applicant’s immigration history or nationality. For example, extra checks may apply if the applicant is from a country subject to Calling Visa or additional clearance requirements, has previously overstayed in Indonesia, or has been deported or placed on an immigration entry-ban list. Indonesian immigration law allows overstays and other violations to result in deportation and penangkalan (entry restriction).
Your Payment May Not Have Been Confirmed Correctly
Payment verification is part of Immigration’s official visa-processing procedure. A successful charge in your banking app therefore should be compared with what appears inside the visa application.
For eVOA payment problems, Immigration specifically tells applicants to check whether their payment method is supported, contact their bank if the transaction is rejected and use official payment support when the problem continues.
If money was charged but your application does not show the correct payment status, save your receipt, transaction number and a screenshot before contacting support.
A Sponsor or Guarantor Step May Still Need Attention
This applies only when the visa category or application route involves a sponsor or guarantor.
When another person or organization submitted the application through their Immigration account, ask them to check that account as well. Notices, requests for documents or other application actions may be visible to the submitting account rather than directly to the traveller.
Sponsor-related issues should not be assumed to be a universal reason for a C1 application remaining under verification because sponsorship arrangements can differ depending on the application route.
Remember: None of these points confirms why a specific application is delayed. “Waiting Verification” only tells you that a final decision has not yet appeared. Check the application record, supporting documents, payment and email first, then contact official Immigration support when the published processing period has passed.
How to Check and Follow Up on an Indonesia Visa
Recheck Your Application and Email
First, sign in to the official Indonesian eVisa portal using the account that submitted the application. Open the complete application record rather than relying only on the short status shown on the dashboard.
Check whether the status says “Waiting Verification,” “Waiting Officer Confirmation,” “Pending,” “Returned,” or something else. These labels may represent different stages, particularly when comparing a new visa application with a stay-permit extension.
Next, look for:
- A request to correct information.
- A request for another document.
- A payment notice.
- An appointment instruction.
- A deadline for completing another step.
Then check the email address used for the application. Search the inbox, spam, junk and promotions folders for messages containing “eVisa,” “Immigration,” “Imigrasi,” your application number or your register number.
When a sponsor or guarantor submitted the application, ask them to check through the account used for the submission.
Confirm That the Payment Was Recorded
Open your bank or card account and confirm whether the payment was completed. Then compare that transaction with the payment status inside the eVisa application.
A charge appearing in your banking account does not always mean that the eVisa portal has attached the payment successfully to your application.
Prepare:
- Your payment receipt.
- Transaction number.
- Register or application number.
- A screenshot of the portal status.
- A cropped screenshot of the relevant bank transaction.
Protect your information: Hide unrelated transactions, account balances, full card numbers and other sensitive information.
When the bank shows a successful charge but the application still says unpaid or incomplete, contact official support before trying to pay again.
Contact Official Immigration Support
Once the normal processing period has passed, use an official Immigration support channel.
Start with the Helpdesk or live-chat option available through the official eVisa website atau Directorate General of Immigration website. The location and name of the feature may change when the portal is updated.
Before contacting support, prepare:
- Full name.
- Passport number.
- Nationality.
- Visa or stay-permit type.
- Register or application number.
- Transaction number.
- Submission and payment dates.
- Payment receipt.
- Screenshot of the current status or error.
- Intended travel date.
- A brief description of what you have already checked.
Keep the message clear and factual. Ask whether your application requires another document, correction, payment confirmation or additional step.
Use only verified channels: Only send passport and payment information through a verified imigrasi.go.id channel. Never send your password, full card details, CVV or one-time security code.
For an application submitted through an Indonesian sponsor, ask the sponsor to contact Immigration through the account used for the submission.
An Indonesian embassy or consulate may provide general guidance, but it may not be able to access or change an electronic visa application processed through the central Immigration system. Contact the mission only when its official website says it handles your visa category or when the application was submitted through that mission.
Follow the Correct Procedure for an Extension
When you are already in Indonesia and extending a visa or stay permit, do not treat the process as identical to a new overseas visa application.
Since 29 May 2025, extension applicants, including eligible VOA holders, must complete a photograph and interview at an Immigration office after beginning the application online.
Check your application and email for:
- The assigned Immigration office.
- Photograph and interview instructions.
- Appointment information.
- Documents you must bring.
- A deadline for attending.
Bring your original passport and any documents specifically requested by Immigration. Keeping copies of the application and payment receipt is also sensible.
Do not visit an office merely in the hope that someone will accelerate the application. When no appointment or office instruction appears, contact the relevant Immigration office or official Helpdesk first.
When you are outside Indonesia and waiting for a new eVisa, use the central Immigration support route or ask the submitting sponsor to follow up. A local Immigration-office visit is relevant mainly to applications and stay-permit procedures being completed inside Indonesia.
What to Check Before Contacting Immigration
A careful review may reveal a missed request or an avoidable mismatch. Work through these checks in order.
Confirm the payment was recorded
Compare the bank or card transaction with the payment status inside the eVisa account. Save the receipt, transaction number, application number, and status screenshot.
A charge on your statement does not always prove the portal linked the payment successfully. Contact the official channel before paying again.
Open the complete application
Do not rely only on the short dashboard label. Look for:
- A request to correct information.
- A request for another document.
- A payment notice.
- A returned or pending message.
- An extension appointment instruction.
- A deadline for completing an action.
Check every email folder
Search inbox, spam, junk, promotions, and deleted folders. Look for “eVisa,” “Immigration,” “Imigrasi,” your register number, application number, or transaction number.
Compare the form with your passport
- Full name and name order.
- Passport number and nationality.
- Date and place of birth.
- Passport issue and expiry dates.
- Travel purpose.
- Passport and personal photographs.
- Required financial or travel documents.
Review every uploaded file
Open each file on a normal-sized screen and zoom in. The passport page should show the complete biodata area and machine-readable lines without glare, blur, or cropped edges.
The official FAQ currently lists JPG, JPEG, and PNG with a maximum size of 2 Mb for the passport biodata page and passport photograph used in an online visa application. Follow the requirements shown for your exact visa.
How to Contact Indonesian Immigration About the Delay
Once the normal processing period has passed, send a concise report through an official channel. Include enough information to locate the record without sending unnecessary private data.
Use the logged-in eVisa Helpdesk first
Log in to the official eVisa website and use the Helpdesk in the bottom-right corner.
- Full name and nationality.
- Passport number.
- Visa or stay-permit type.
- Register and application numbers.
- Transaction number.
- Submission and payment dates.
- Payment receipt.
- Status or error screenshot.
- Intended arrival date.
- A brief description of what you checked.
Protect your private information
Only send passport and application details through a verified imigrasi.go.id page, official email address, or logged-in Helpdesk.
- Never send your eVisa password.
- Never share a complete card number or CVV.
- Never share a one-time code.
- Never share an online-banking password.
- Crop unrelated balances and transactions from payment evidence.
Copy-and-Paste Helpdesk Message
What Not to Do While You Wait
- Do not submit several identical applications unless Immigration tells you to reapply.
- Do not pay an unknown person who claims to control the Immigration system.
- Do not share passport, login, card, or one-time-code information through an unverified social account.
- Do not treat “Waiting Verification” as an issued visa.
- Do not make a non-refundable travel decision based only on an estimated processing time.
- Do not assume another traveller’s entry option also applies to you.
What If Your Flight Is Departing Soon?
A pending eVisa application does not replace an issued travel document. Some travellers may qualify for Visa on Arrival, electronic Visa on Arrival, visa-free entry, or another visitor visa. Others must hold an approved visa before travelling.
- Check eligibility using official Indonesian visa-selection information.
- Confirm your planned activity is allowed under the alternative option.
- Check passport-validity and onward-ticket requirements.
- Do not assume advice given to another traveller applies to you.
- Contact the airline when you need to confirm check-in documents.
Explore available entry options on the Visa-Indonesia visa options page.

Soalan Lazim
Does “Waiting Verification” mean my visa will be rejected?
No. It means the system has not displayed a final result. It confirms neither approval nor rejection. Continue checking your account and email, then contact official support after the normal period.
How long does Indonesia visa verification take?
Several official visa-category pages, including C1 and D1, publish a processing time of five working days after payment is received. It may take longer when information is missing, another step is incomplete, or further review is required.
Do weekends count as working days?
No. Saturdays and Sundays are not working days. Indonesian public holidays can also extend the calendar wait.
How do I find my register number?
The register number appears beside the applicant’s name in the eVisa account after the application form has been completed.
What should I do after five working days?
Check the full dashboard, payment status, registered email, spam folder, passport details, and uploaded files. When no request or obvious issue appears, prepare your information and use the logged-in Immigration Helpdesk.
Can I travel while the status says “Waiting Verification”?
A pending application is not an issued visa. You may travel only when you hold valid entry permission or qualify for another lawful entry facility.
Should I cancel the application and apply again?
Do not automatically submit another application. Ask Immigration whether you should correct, continue, or replace the existing record. Reapplying without guidance can create another fee and duplicate record.
What if my card was charged but the account did not update?
Save the receipt, transaction number, register number, passport details, and a screenshot. Then contact the official payment-support or Helpdesk channel before making another payment.
Is “Waiting Officer Confirmation” the same status?
Not necessarily. It may belong to a different stage or workflow, especially an extension. Open the application details and follow the instructions attached to that record.
Can a visa agent guarantee faster approval?
No private agent controls Immigration’s final decision. A legitimate provider may promise its own service timeline, document review, communication, or remedy, but should not claim to control government approval.
