Perseroan Terbatas (PT)

PT (Perseroan Terbatas) translates to “Limited Liability Company” in English. This term refers to a specific type of legal entity or company structure recognized under Indonesian law. It is a common form of business structure in Indonesia and is often used for commercial and business activities. A PT can be owned by both Indonesian citizens and foreign individuals or entities. However, the percentage of foreign ownership may be subject to certain restrictions and regulations depending on the business sector and the company’s specific activities.  In some cases, foreign individuals who plan to work in Indonesia may need to be employed by a PT or establish a PT to serve as their sponsoring entity for obtaining work visas or permits. When foreign nationals are involved in the management or employment of a PT, they may need to comply with Indonesian immigration regulations, including obtaining the appropriate work or residence permits.
