In Indonesia, your residency status is legally tied to your specific passport number. When you receive a new passport whether due to expiration, damage, or running out of pages. The Immigration database must be manually updated to reflect your new document details.

• For KITAS & KITAP Holders: This process is mandatory. Your stay permit, bank accounts, and travel permissions are locked to your old passport. A mutation ensures your “Electronic Stay Permit” remains valid and linked to your new identity.

• For Visit Visa Holders: If you plan to extend your stay using your new passport, a mutation is required before the extension can be processed. Without this sync, the Immigration system will not recognize your new passport as having a valid entry record.
