Sponsor

Sponsorship refers to the process where a local entity or individual takes responsibility for a foreign national who intends to enter or stay in Indonesia. The sponsor serves as a guarantor or host for the foreign national and is responsible for their activities and compliance with immigration regulations during their stay in the country. The sponsor is responsible for ensuring that the foreign national complies with the terms and conditions of their visa or permit, including reporting any changes in circumstances or extensions of stay to the relevant authorities. Sponsorship is typically required for various types of visas and permits in Indonesia, such as the social-cultural visa, work permit (IMTA), limited stay permit (KITAS), and permanent stay permit (KITAP). The sponsor can be an Indonesian company, organization, educational institution, government agency, or an individual who meets specific criteria. The sponsor’s role includes initiating the application process, submitting required documents to the Indonesian immigration authorities, and vouching for the foreign national’s purpose of stay and conduct while in Indonesia.
