Dependent

Dependent refers to a family member or spouse of a foreign national who holds a valid visa or permit to reside in Indonesia. It may include spouses, children, parents, or other family members who are financially dependent on the primary visa holder or have a close relationship with them. Dependents are eligible to accompany or join the primary visa or permit holder in Indonesia and are granted their own dependent visa or permit. To obtain dependent status, the primary visa holder, who is typically the sponsor, must meet the requirements set by the Indonesian immigration authorities and submit the necessary documentation (i.e.: marriage certificates, birth certificates, proof of relationship, and financial documentation) for the dependent application. Once approved, dependent visas or permits allow the family members to legally reside in Indonesia and may grant them certain privileges, such as the ability to work or attend school, depending on the specific visa or permit category.
